In this month’s episode, we are taking you to the ballet, where stories are told through the medium of body and music. Just as this art can bring things to magical life, so too can it foster obsession in those who strive to achieve the perfect form. The Apple and the Pearl by Rym Kechacha follows a touring ballet company, but this is no ordinary show with no ordinary audience. The Otherworld is a constant uneasy threat.

Join us to talk liminal spaces, how theatre can act like portal fantasy and how refreshing it is to return the fae to their unearthly sinister origins.

Rym Kechacha is the author of Dark River and To Catch a Moon, and a teacher. Her debut novel, Dark River, was shortlisted for the BFA Best Novel and Best Newcomer awards. She previously trained as a ballet dancer and danced professionally with Northern Ballet for three years.
